Page 3 - Saturday

Saturday morning we gather at the Dining Hall for the Farm Family Breakfast.
One of our favorite parts of Homecoming - eating, talking, and more hugging.

Addie Corn and Andrew Ritchie greet us as we gather at the Dining Hall for Breakfast.

J. T. Coleman, past President, and J. Harold Thurmond, President of the Farm Family Association,
join Janie Owens in greeting the alumni and welcoming them to the 2004 Farm Family Breakfast.
After the blessing was offered, the alumni eagerly went in search of sausage gravy and grits.

Gary Kitchens, Jim Darnell, Ralph and  Karen  Merrow enjoying breakfast.
Gary captured Homecoming Weekend on video for Janie.

Barbara Lewis Estes, Billy Teasley, Dale Denham Shaffield,
Bill and Jean Kelly, Terre and Don Kelly chowing down.

Phillip Stanley, filled with good food and many memories of meals in the Dining Hall,
having great fun sharing this with his wife, Anna.

Dale appears to be offering a toast to the dietician, Teresa - who did a great job.
Thanks Teresa! Breakfast was delicious.  No cholesterol on Billy's plate.

Gail Thurmond with Linda and Phil Landers. Gail and Linda are very interested in the conversation
at the table while Phil seems to be considering breaking the camera or the photographer.

Dennis Dickerson and Harold Thurmond seem to be enjoying a hugging visit from Dale.

Hazel Guthrie Underwood chats with Carol and Bill Dunbar.

Jane Tanner Bridges and Cleo Dodson keep Fern Dodd Strickland company.

Fern Dodd Strickland and Bob Kehres - a new romance seems to blossoming.

Lee and James Smith with Bob Welden.  Lee and James seem to be looking for an exit.

Bill and Jean Kelly relaxing and enjoying breakfast with friends.

Gwen Raby Mansini is sparkling as she enjoys breakfast with Jim Darnell.  Jim looks a bit doubtful.

Dr. Anderson joined us for breakfast even though he was fasting.
It is always a pleasure to see him and he enjoys the alumni.

Harold Thurmond thanks everyone for attending the Farm Family Breakfast.
A very attentative crowd hung on his every word.

Gail Thurmond, Linda Landers, and Jim Lougher rest after breakfast
and ponder the next event of the day.

Billy Teasley, Janie Owens, and Dale Denham Shaffield wander over to the
Arts and Technology Building to check out the Alumni Art Show.

Keith Sutherland's photographs were spectacular.
Unfortunately this photographer had trouble with the flash and reflections.
This mill picture is a beauty.

The Rufous Hummingbird and Mt. Hood were taken by Jim "Dickie" Cutlip who lives in Cascade Locks, Washington.
Jim's photographs reflect his love of nature.

Charlie Underwood's Seascape captured the North Carolina Coast on a foggy morning.

"Yargo Yeti"
This photograph by J. Harold Thurmond stirred everyone's imagination as we tried to find the monster..

Alice Hempel Kamin created this doll.  She designed it to look like her daughter.
Alice, please give us some background on this charming doll.

"Frosty Morn"
Poem by J. Harold Thurmond and photo by Beverly Guthrie Lougher

There were many other  talented contributors and, unfortunately, we did not get pictures of their work.
Next year we will have better coverage.  Patty Cone Gober's photography was special
and we regret not being able to include it here.
