RABUN GAP NACOOCHEE HOMECOMING 2005

SUNDAY - June 5, 2005

Sunday morning and here we are eating again.  The Sunday Prayer Breakfast is a special time for fellowship and gratitude for all our blessings.  Jim Lougher, Ken McNulty, Pat Wright McNulty, Billy Teasley, Lee Smith, James Smith, and Dale  Denham Shaffield enjoy some more of Theresa's good cooking.

Ronald Ward, Ken Ward, and J. T. Coleman join Dr. Anderson for breakfast.

Don Kelly, Terre Kelly, Jane Tanner Bridges, Cleo Dodson, and Bob Welden

Janie Owens introduced Dr. Terry Seehorn and his son, Josh.  Josh had come home from college to sing with his father for the Alumni Prayer Breakfast.  The Christian songs were beautifully performed and we really enjoyed the music.

After breakfast we headed over to Open House at Rebecca and John Marshall's home.  Our host and hostess opened their hearts and their home to us and made us very welcome.  James Smith and J. T. Coleman with John and Rebecca.

Receiving permission from Rebecca, the photographs of their beautiful home are for all who could not be with us.  A very warm and inviting home.  The living room.

Rebecca and John have family pictures all through their home.  This music room was lovely.

Rebecca graciously sharing Luke with her guests.  Here Terre watches while her husband,  Don Kelly, holds Luke.  Dale Denham Shaffield, Janie Owens and Dennis Dickerson enjoy Don's pleasure.

The Dining Room with wonderful views of the school.

Very elegant downstairs bedroom with toys.

The screened porch was off the Great Room.  A buffet was set up with cinnamon biscuits, danish pasties, and fruit.  We all had room for a sample or two.  The cinnamon biscuits were very good.  Rebecca brought out more chairs as J. T. Coleman admired the view.  Lee and James Smith seated and eyeing the biscuits.   Dennis Dickerson, Terre and Don Kelly.

Dale Denham Shaffield joined the group.  The screened porch seemed to be the favorite room for everyone.  Of course the food was there.

Ken and Pat Wright McNulty visit with John Beard, friend of George Freemon '71.

John and Rebecca with James Smith, J. T. Coleman and Dale Denham Shaffield.    Rebecca took anyone who wished for a garden tour.

Jack Ayers arrived for the Open House.  Jack had been missed and was greeted warmly by Carol Dickerson Dunbar, Lee and James Smith.  Jack could not come for Friday and Saturday and we were so glad he could come to be with us on Sunday.

Bill Dunbar, Carol Dickerson Dunbar, Jack Ayers, Lee Smith, and James Smith smile for the camera.  The Rabun Gap Shuttle in the background took us from place to place.

Meanwhile back on the porch, Dennis Dickerson had a captive audience in Gail Thurmond and Pat Wright McNulty.

Dale Denham Shaffield and Harold Thurmond with Ken McNulty and Dess Oliver in the background.  Dale and Harold cleaned up nicely.

Betty Coleman McEachern, with brother J. T. Coleman, visit the Marshalls.  Gail Thurmond and Terre Kelly under the petunias.

Jackie Oliver on the left and a group of alumni visit in the great room.

Leaving the hospitality of Rebecca and John Marshall we head to the Chapel.  This whimsical pig on the porch bid us adieu.
